Equity - you must finance the full purchase price with a lease whereas you can elect to pay a deposit with hire purchase/chattel mortgage;
Residuals values - there are guidelines to follow, but you must have a residual value (payable at the end of the term) on a lease. With hire purchase/chattel mortgage there is the flexibility of structuring a loan with or without a residual/balloon payment;
Tax deductions - your instalments on a lease are deductible where as you can claim depreciation of the asset and interest for a hire purchase/chattel mortgage;
