"The Boss' is no 'Michael Voss'

Simon Pressley, the Boss, recently played in a game of AFL footy at Melbourne’s Telstra Dome. The match was played as a curtain-raiser to Collingwood vs. Kangaroos match, but continue to read on and you’ll see what we mean about Simon’s reputation as broker and business owner is miles apart from his AFL talent; nothing like his hero, former Brisbane Lions champion, Michael Voss.

Anyone who knows Simon knows only too well how much he loves his AFL, although it’s been many a year since he’s actually played. The match was a sponsorship event which Simon was invited to participate in by Aggregator, Astute Financial Management. The team was made up of a group of Australia’s premier finance brokers and there was a lot of hype in the lead up to the big match.

So, along came game day, the adrenaline was pumping and the boys were ready and raring to hit the field. After some encouraging signs in which Simon picked up a few early possessions, just three minutes into this dream game Simon was innocently tackled, fell awkwardly, tore ligaments and cartilage in his knee, and is now requiring a lengthy period of rehabilitation.

Unfortunately, it was all downhill from the 3rd minute onwards with the Astute All-Stars eventually losing to the Vodafone Vipers 8 – 7- 55 to 2 – 0 – 12. As for Simon, he should stick finance broking!
